Fourme D'ambert Bleu 5lb
Fourme d'Ambert is one of the oldest cheeses in France and dates back as far as the Romans. It is a blue cheese from the south-central region of Auvergne and is created with Penicillium roqueforti spores and is aged for a minimum of 28 days. During the aging process, Fourme d'Ambert is injected with a sweet, white wine called Vouvray moelleux. It was given the AOC label from the French government in 1972, and then again in 2002. A depiction of the cheese can be found sculpted above the entrance to the medieval chapel in Chaulme.
Fourme d'Ambert is a semi-hard cheese with a creamy texture. Because it is made with Vouvray moelleux, its flavor profile consists of the long-lasting taste of wine.
