Blood oranges are citrus fruits exclusive to eastern Sicily in the "Piana di Catania" countryside. The special soil and micro-climate, characterized by a wide thermal range due to the snow of Mt. Etna, give the characteristic red coloring to the fruit. Blood ranges are extremely rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, minerals, and other useful nutrients.
