Mahon Spanish DOP 7lb
Named after the port city of Mahon on the Spanish island of Menorca, Mahon is easily recognizable by its orange rind that darkens to brown as it ages. It is a semi-soft cheese, with an interior that can be hard and crumbly and is creamier in color.
Mahon's flavor profile is smooth yet buttery with a slight saltiness due to the sea salt content of the grass that the island's cows graze. It has a creamy, nutty aroma.
Mahon is a nice accompaniment to fruit or dessert, and as a harder cheese, is perfect grated over pasta.
Milk: Cow's
Origin: Menorca, Spain
